About Us

Matthew J. Crigger PLC is a criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation law firm located in Frannklin, TN.  Matthew Crigger uses over ten years of experience to represent clients throughout the Middle Tennessee area, including, but not limited to, the cities of Franklin, Brentwood, Murfreesboro, Columbia, Manchester, and Nashville and Williamson, Davidson, Rutherford, Coffee, and Maury Counties.

Matthew Crigger, a native of middle Tennessee, opened Matthew J. Crigger PLC in 2014 after working for the Cool Springs Law Firm, formerly Todd Moore PLC, in Franklin, Tennessee as an associate for two years.  

Prior to entering the private practice of law, Matthew Crigger clerked for the Circuit Judges of the 21st Judicial District, Judge Robbie Beal, Judge Tim Easter, Judge Jim Martin, and Judge Derek Smith, in Franklin, Tennessee in Williamson County.

Matthew graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in May 2011, where he served as a Notes Editor on the Law Review Editorial Board and was an award-winning mock trial participant and moot court participant. After his second year of law school, Matthew gained invaluable experience in the field of criminal law while interning with General Kim Helper and the 21st Judicial District’s District Attorney’s Office. After taking the bar examination, Matthew interned with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility before beginning his clerkship with the 21st District’s judges.

Matthew’s areas of practice include criminal defense of people charged with all types of crimes (felonies and misdemeanors) and civil litigation. Matthew represents clients in family-related matters, including divorce and juvenile criminal defense. Matthew represents clients in trial courts across middle Tennessee and in the Court of Appeals and Court of Criminal Appeals. Matthew has tried cases in general sessions court, circuit court, criminal court, and juvenile court.   

When not in court or at the office, Matthew enjoys the outdoors, running, and following baseball. Matthew lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
